Bullying whether verbal or physical hurts a great deal. It wounds self-esteem and, if unaddressed, can escalate to where it results in severe emotional and physical injury .
But, as we've learned over the last few years, a large percentage of our children are affected by bullying and the problem is getting worse . This increased awareness about the prevalence and impact of bullying is an important step in addressing this devastating problem but now we need solutions.
That's what the Anti-Bullying Store is all about.
The Anti-Bulling Store is based on the work of the late Dr. George Thompson, who had studied methods to prevent and de-escalate conflict for over 27 years, published four books (with over 300,000 copies sold) and trained more than 1 million people throughout the world. In 2009, a major effort was undertaken to apply Dr. Thompson's methodologies to the problem of bullying which resulted in the formation of the Anti-Bully Store.
Dr. Thompson's work can be summarized by his Five Universal Truths of Human Interaction that all people want to be:
